We are seeking a Program Specialist who will independently manage the planning, implementation, and execution of a significant program within a department. The Program Specialist is responsible for all administrative and financial functions, events, reporting, supervision and/or oversight of operational staff with program responsibilities.
The Program Specialist for Performance Health serves as a vital bridge between the Peabody Conservatory and the Johns Hopkins Rehabilitation Network's (JHRN) Clinic for Performing Artists. This role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing comprehensive injury prevention, performance optimization, health promotion, and occupational health resources to foster a healthy campus learning environment for Conservatory musicians and dancers. Building upon existing programs and services, the Program Manager will coordinate new initiatives such as advisement sessions, baseline screenings, wellness tracking, and workshops and individual consultations including performance psychology, nutrition, sleep health, strength and conditioning, among others. The position requires close collaboration with the JHRN Clinic Manager/Team, Peabody Student Affairs and Academic Affairs Teams, JHU Student Health and Well-Being, and Performing Arts & Health Department Chair to ensure seamless integration of clinical and educational services. Job duties encompass program development and support, health promotion and communication, administrative operations, and strategic planning/future initiatives.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for setting goals and planning to meet program objectives.
Develop, maintain, and oversee timelines for all special activities, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
Develop budget and manage program expenses, projections, and reporting.
Plan and manage outreach activities and internal events, working with vendors and internal resources as needed.
Create, develop and expand communications via websites, social media channels, and publication materials as needed.
Represent the program internally and externally.
Ensure timely, accurate and appropriate reporting of program activities.
Monitor, evaluate and implement business practices and procedures to support the day-to-day operational needs of the program.
Review and evaluate program needs, while maintaining cost effectiveness.
Manage and oversee the timely compilation of annual reports and work plans.
May supervise and/or oversee operational staff with program responsibilities.

In addition to the duties described above
Develop and deliver workshops, training sessions, and coaching opportunities; supervise and mentor student intern in performance health initiatives.
Manage performance health communication strategies; collaborate with team to develop innovative student-facing programs.
Provide operational support for clinical team including facilities management, scheduling coordination, security/clinic access, employee onboarding, and other administrative needs as requested.
Assist in curriculum development for foundational course in performance health and teach as appropriate.
Coordinate health data collection efforts to inform program development and campus health strategy; coordinate future campus performance health monitoring initiatives (sound level assessments, practice room utilization studies, environmental health factors).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
Two years of related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
A background in the performing arts (music or dance preferred), knowledge of injury prevention and/or performance optimization principles
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
