Direct middle school string ensemble, Nobles Symphony Orchestra, and the honors chamber music ensemble
Recruit and rehearse students to play in the pit orchestra for the annual upper school winter musical, write parts as necessary, and work on the production through closing and strike
Option to teach one section of a middle or upper school general music class
Attend faculty, department, and course team meetings, and production meetings for the musical
Participate in one to two admission events per yearÂ
Commit to ongoing growth in classroom practice and curricular development
If a full-time position, duties would also include:Â
Attending faculty meetings
Contributing to the life of the school in at least one non-academic area
Attending all school morning assemblies
Supervising one study hall per cycleÂ
Completing two chaperone duties per year
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required
Minimum of three years of K-12 teaching experience
Experience teaching instrumental, particularly string-focused ensembles, in a rigorous academic environment, preferably at the secondary school level
A demonstrated interest in working with young people
