Educational Technology Services (ETS) is a part of the Academic Technology Services group that provides technology services, support, and resources to the UC San Diego academic community, facilitating teaching and learning in service of the University's educational mission. As part of the Multimedia Services team, the Educational Video Producer creates videos that meet the online learning objectives of the university using good judgment and with an understanding of the departmental mission, goals and strategic direction. This role will lead large and complex video projects, guiding faculty on appropriate video formats and delivery methods to meet instructional needs. The Educational Video Producer will work directly with clients, talent, and staff to ensure the end products meets stakeholder expectations. This role must be capable as an independent producer during all phases of production, but will also collaborate with other producers as needed, and may help train and oversee junior staff members and student workers. Responsibilities: Advanced pre-production skills to determine logistics for projects with complex production methods, and guiding team members in location scouting, equipment testing and script development. Advanced skills and the ability to oversee others in the setup and operation of video acquisition equipment including cameras, monitors, microphones, teleprompters, and lighting equipment both in studio environments and on location Handle post-production and lead others in all areas of post and editing to assemble, revise and finalize video projects including use of graphics, templates, animations, sound design and music Advanced customer service skills to work directly with faculty and staff to ensure the end product meets expectations and instructional objectives within project timeframes.QUALIFICATIONSAdvanced experience in and demonstrated knowledge of pre-production, including scripting and storyboarding, coordinating talent, generating cost estimates, and developing timelines, especially in creating course-related videos.
