Ideal Qualities:

The ideal candidate will have...

• BA or BS Degree (Degree in Music Education, Special Education or related field required)
• MA or MS Degree (Degree in Music Education or Special Education or related field preferred)
• NYS Teacher Certification preferred
• Three or more years of classroom experience building positive and appropriate relationships with middle school age students

• Knowledge of, or willingness to continue higher levels of education to obtain knowledge of effective teaching strategies and methodologies for working with children with language-based learning disabilities

• Candidate should be highly motivated and well organized with strong skills in verbal expression. 
• Band direction and facilitation of private lessons.
• Experience with musical theater and accompaniment is a plus.
• Knowledge of, or experience with, learning disabilities is a plus.
