Assistant Professor - Department of Music, School of Arts & Sciences FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT The Department of Music at Hunter College of the City University of New York invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Musicology with a specialization in African American music. The successful candidate will be a dynamic scholar-teacher whose research and teaching focus on the history, theory, and cultural practice of music within Black American traditions. Areas of expertise include but are not limited to blues, concert/classical, Detroit techno, disco, funk, gospel, hip-hop, jazz, Motown, R&B, ragtime, rap, spirituals, and soul.
