Make a splash and help others build confidence in the water! We're hiring Swim Instructors to join the aquatics team at Boston University's Fitness & Recreation Center (FitRec) - a dynamic and inclusive facility that promotes health, wellness, and lifelong fitness for the BU community and beyond.

As a Swim Instructor at FitRec, you'll provide high-quality, safe, and engaging swim instruction to children and adults at all levels. Our instructional programs serve a wide range of participants:

• 
  FitRec Swim School - for ages 6 months to 14 years
  
• 
  FitRec Swim Club - for ages approximately 8 to 16 years
  
• 
  Adult Swim Lessons and Group Classes
  

We're looking for enthusiastic, knowledgeable instructors passionate about helping swimmers grow and succeed.

In this role, you will:

• 
  Teach proper swim techniques and promote water safety
  
• 
  Offer clear, encouraging, and proactive feedback
  
• 
  Motivate participants to reach their personal swimming goals
  
• 
  Assess progress and adapt instruction to meet individual needs
  
• Complete key administrative tasks such as lesson planning, tracking attendance, writing progress reports, and attending all scheduled staff trainings
  

Required Skills

Required Certification:

• 
  American Red Cross CPR/AED
  

Preferred Certification:

• 
  American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
  

Pay starts at $18/hour.
