The Music and Theater Arts Section of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) with a specialty in composition, broadly defined. Position to begin July 1, 2025, or on a mutually agreed date thereafter. Candidates should hold a PhD or DMA in Music Composition, or a related field, by the start of employment. The qualified candidate is an active and innovative composer with a minimum of two years of teaching experience at the university level. Active engagement in other areas of music – including but not limited to areas such as improvisation, music technology, performance, production, scholarship, theory, etc. - will be taken into consideration but are not required.
