Description of Work:
The Story, Worlds, Speculative Design Lab is a creative research and design lab that focuses on understanding Story as a tool. Story lays the groundwork for how we will build worlds both physically and speculatively and is the overarching term for which methods and modalities of worldbuilding, futures thinking, speculative design, design fictions, rural-urban design, larping (live-action role-playing), scenario planning, science fiction, cinema, real fictions, theater, fakery, deep fakes, fake news, fact-fiction, pretend, simulation, performance, mimicry, play, games, and narrative weapons research, will live.
This position works alongside Professor Ash Smith to assist her in the research, development and execution of the creative research projects of her Story, Worlds, Speculative Design Lab. Current projects that the Lab is working on include: World of Connections (an XR project focused on working with middle-schools); BopCity (an augmented reality storytelling project), Backlot-Backloop (a project requiring excellent visual and video storytelling skills), the Rural Futures Platform (a project requiring excellent podcasting and visual storytelling skills).

Minimum Required Qualifications:
High school diploma plus 1-year related experience. Work or educational experience should demonstrate:
High School Diploma plus 1 year related experience
Experience with video assembly and editing
Experience with audio editing
Demonstrable storytelling skills
Experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including but not limited to: Premiere, Photoshop,
Experience with Google Applications
Experience with Microsoft Office
Preferred experience and skills:
3D modelling skills and experience with 3D modeling applications (Blendr, Rhino, etc.)
Experience in Unity or Unreal game engines
Ability to work with LIDAR scans
Experienced AR developer
Posted Salary: $15.00/hr
