Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES) is seeking a Lower School Theatre Teacher. HIES is the largest Episcopal Parish independent day school in the country, serving 1,400 students and offers a fully accredited college preparatory program for students age three through 12th grade. HIES is located north of downtown Atlanta between I-75 and GA 400.
Develop lesson plans and monitor student performance in Theatre class
Work with other LS theatre teacher to plan special performances including Grandparent’s Day and special end of year grade level performances
Other duties as assigned by Lower School
Serve as part of the production team for after school productions in multiple divisions
Educational and Other Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre, Theatre Education or related field required, Master’s Degree preferred
GA K-5 Certification is not required for hire, but will be required in the event of continued employment
Experience working in a theatre classroom
Excellent organization and communication skills
Strong classroom management skills
Commitment to collaboration both in the classroom and as part of a larger production team
Successful completion of pre-employment background screening, drug testing and safety training required.
