Charlotte Latin School seeks an Assistant Director of Bands to begin August 2021.
Key Responsibilities of this role include:
Assist all band classes in Grades 5-12
Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formative and summative assessments
Assist in preparing ensembles for winter and spring concerts, conducting as appropriate
Assist the Pep Band in preparation and performance for limited engagements at home football games
Assist in providing students with an opportunity to participate in extracurricular band activities and ensure compliance with any North Carolina Band Master requirements.
Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students
Maintain instrument inventory and music library
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in music education, along with experience teaching in an independent, K-12 school. A minimum of three years of teaching band in a school setting is required.
