Triangle Day School is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Music teacher to join our team. With our school being in a period of great growth, we are looking for someone to bring energy and fresh ideas to our music and performing arts offerings to enhance our growing Arts program. This person will be responsible for teaching our Lower School Music classes, leading our Lower School and Middle School choral groups, and coordinating a handful of schoolwide performances.

Plan and execute a balanced music program with achievable goals that can be accomplished through the use of singing, games, movement, and instrument exploration.
Facilitate age-appropriate practice with Orff instruments, percussion instruments (pitched and unpitched), recorders, and ukuleles.
Utilize repertoire of music literature, including traditional and contemporary, that are appropriate for the ages and skill levels of students.
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials, providing individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other staff members in assessing and aiding in bringing students to their full potential.
Maintain care and responsibility for school-owned music, musical instruments, and equipment.
Collaborate with Division Directors in creating musical programs for school assemblies and seasonal programs.
Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and through self-selected professional growth activities.
Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss student's progress and the school arts program.
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Music Education or related field
3+ years of teaching experience with children ages 4-13
Deep love for and knowledge of music education in the primary and secondary years
Passion for nurturing the curiosity and creativity of students
Eagerness to collaborate with colleagues across divisions and departments
Familiarity with instructional technology both for teaching and communication
Orff or Kodaly Level 1 Certificate (preferred, but not required)
Teaching certification (preferred, but not required)
