The successful candidate will be an experienced teacher who understands the needs of children within this age group. The candidate will join a developmentally based, experiential program that is cognitively challenging and responsive to individual children’s interests and needs. The ability to work as a collaborative team member is an essential skill for this position. Teachers in K work together to provide a comprehensive program of individual, small group, and full-class activities. Outdoor learning and free play are integral components of the program. Additionally, specialists collaborate with core teachers to integrate PE, science, creative movement, music, and art into the overall learning experience. The K team also works collaboratively with Pre-K teachers as part of the Early Childhood Unit.

  • Degree with a focus on early childhood education; advanced degree preferred
  • Teaching experience with pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, or first grade students
  • Preferred: experience working in a collaborative team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents and staff, both verbally and in written communications
  • The candidate should be comfortable designing and delivering instruction remotely, when needed
  • Participation in weekly staff meetings and school-wide professional development initiatives
