Open Rank Visiting Professors in Human Computer Interaction

Location: Bloomington Department: IU Bloomington Informatics Position Announcement: The Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) invites applications for multiple non-tenure track full-time open rank visiting professor positions in the Informatics Department to begin on August 1, 2021 in the area of human computer interaction. The appointments are for one year (10 months) with possibility for renewal subject to programmatic need, positive instructional evaluations, research contributions, and available funding. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach and mentor students in any of the following areas: human centered computing, human computer interaction (HCI), ethnographic methods in HCI, design-oriented HCI, social and organizational informatics, sustainable design, AI ethics, and social justice. We seek candidates prepared to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education, especially those with experience in teaching or working with diverse student populations. Responsibilities will include teaching, research, service and mentorship of students at the undergraduate, M.S., and PhD level. Faculty will be part of the HCI/d faculty and participate in course design. We anticipate a teaching load of four courses (2+2) per academic year with some expectation of research.
