![]() Visiting Assistant Professor (Acting) Theatre and Dance Description Position Details: Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a one-year, full-time, sabbatical replacement position of Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance to begin September 1, 2021. The Department of Theatre and Dance's mission emphasizes the value of performance as a vital means of working for social justice and personal transformation. We mentor students in explorations of the many ways theatre and dance artists interpret and affect society. Students and faculty collaborate on creative research projects designed to raise awareness, create community, foster self-expression, challenge stereotypes, evoke compassion, and represent diverse perspectives. Major/Essential Functions: The annual teaching assignment will be 5 courses. Primary teaching responsibilities will include T/D 106: Acting I (fall and spring), an intermediate-level acting technique course based on the candidate's area of expertise (spring), a barebones workshop production (fall), and directing one mainstage fully produced title in the spring semester. The successful applicant will also contribute to student advising and departmental recruitment efforts.
