Villa Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, engaging and student-centered Band Director to join our dynamic faculty. Villa boasts a 30-acre campus with trails to the waterfront, a garden and a greenhouse. This position includes teaching three sections of concert band, one jazz/modern band, instrument-specific sectionals, and a middle school advisory. Other responsibilities include: coordinating the school arts calendar and facilities usage, and fulfilling various supervisory duties as assigned.
A knowledge and appreciation of student learning and development is a must. The ability to partner with colleagues and families is key. Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously are desired qualities.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree required;
Experience with effective student management and positive relationship building practices;
