APPOINTMENT: Assistant or Associate Professor, Adjunct, & Director of Equity, Belonging, and Student Life, beginning March 1, 2021, (earliest) with an initial appointment of three to five years, depending on qualifications. Appointment renewable with review during the penultimate year. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Position is full-time and includes all faculty benefits. RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has dual responsibilities. As a member of Faculty: Report to the Coordinator of Academic Studies. Teach one course each semester in the area of expertise. Participate in writing, monitoring, and grading placement examinations and the subsequent placement of the incoming class. Participate in curriculum evaluation and development, bringing forward new ideas about equity and belonging. Mentor and advise students. Attend area and school faculty meetings. As an Administrator: Report to the Dean of the School of Music. Create a vibrant school environment that supports the artistic and academic mission of the School and University. Participate as a member of the School of Music Cabinet, working in strategic planning and administration of the school. Create professional development and recruitment programs for students, faculty, and staff which includes support for equity and belonging initiatives. Organize and oversee School of Music student government and affinity groups and student representation on university committees. Committee responsibilities and other duties as assigned by the Dean.
