Major Duties: General Summary: Oversees the costume shop.- Oversees and collaborates with faculty on the patterning and construction of period garments, dying and painting, hat making and other crafts. Ensures deadlines are met.- Supervises and instructs student assistants and crews in the proper construction, alteration and fitting of costumes.Provides instruction for the costume technology portions of stagecraft courses.- Maintains budgets for the costume shop, including seasonal and main stage show budgets.- Collaborates with designers to ensure designs are executed correctly.- Maintains the costume shop and storage spaces.Coordinates the borrowing and rental program for the costume shop. Orders supplies.- Participates in production meetings, dress rehearsals and recruiting activities of students as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelors in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Theatre, Costume Design or Technology or related field from an accredited institution.- Two years' relevant experience.
