TheÂ USCâsÂ School of Cinematic Arts, John C. Hench Division of Animation and Digital Arts is seeking applicants for an open-rank part-time faculty position at the Adjunct Assistant, Associate orÂ fullÂ Professor level,Â dependent upon experience, to teach an Introduction to Storyboarding course.Â
Qualified candidates will have professional experience at major animation studios as a storyboard artist, head of story, co-director or director.Â Candidates should be currently engaged in the entertainment industry and possess hands-on working knowledge of the principles and practice of digital storyboarding.Â Â ApplicantsÂ should possess excellent draftsmanship, have mastered storyboard pitching and have a solid understanding of how music, sound design, editing and cinematography impact visual storytelling.Â Previous teaching experience is preferred.

Minimum Education:Â Â Â BA or BFA degree from an accredited university or art school
8 years of professional experience working in feature and/or TV animation
At least 4 yearsâ experience as a storyboard artist at major studios
Preferred Education:Â Â MFA degree from an accredited university or art school
10 years of professional experience working in feature and/or TV animation
At least 6 yearsâ experience as a storyboard artist
Creative supervisory experience as a director, co-director, head of story or roles responsible for creative story supervision and overseeing storyboards
Demonstrated teaching experience, ideally at the college level, but inclusive of professional and community seminars, workshops, and mentorships.
