| Bard College seeks a Berlin Programs Manager. The position is based at Bard, and will involve regular travel both within the US and occasional working visits to Bard College Berlin. This is a full-time, exempt, 12 month per year position. The successful candidate will excel at working in a community that is broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, gender identity, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion. Bard College's main campus is in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y., with 1,900 undergraduate students; the College also includes multiple graduate programs. The 1,000-acre campus sits along the Hudson River and offers the Fisher Performing Arts Center, and Hessel Museum of Art, and is the home of the Bard Prison Initiative, the largest college-degree-granting prison education program in the U.S. The Bard Network also includes several Bard High School Early Colleges across the country as well as international campuses and partnerships. The Bard Network is complex and demonstrates Bard's priorities well in addition to the College's emphasis on civic engagement. Bard College is a private institution working in the public interest. Bard faculty and staff lead their students by example, building upon the existing network of boundary-breaking programs focused on rethinking who can and should be included in a liberal arts education. The Berlin Programs Manager is responsible for student recruitment and program development and support for a range of study abroad programs hosted at Bard College Berlin. In this capacity, the Berlin Programs Manager is expected to set and meet numerical and financial goals for recruitment of North American students for short term study at Bard College Berlin. They will play an integral role in assuring the excellence of the student experience abroad. The position is responsible for recruitment, management, and development for seven distinct study abroad programs hosted at BCB: Arts and Society Program, The Migration Semester, Liberal Arts Berlin (LAB) Semester, Summer Theater Intensive, Berlin Summer Studio, Bard German Language Intensive, and the Begin in Berlin Program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Recruit undergraduates from colleges and universities in North America to study abroad at one of Bard College Berlin's study abroad programs Maintain and grow relationships with faculty members, especially within the performing and studio arts, and study abroad advisors at Bard's US-based sending partners and expand the network of institutions sending students to BCB Travel to study abroad fairs, campus meetings, and conferences to represent BCB's study abroad programs. Travel schedule is heaviest in late-August to early November and late-January to mid-March. Coordinate with Annandale and Berlin colleagues on all phases of the student experience from inquiry, admission, enrollment, payment, registration, visa support, insurance coverage, housing, and travel details Liaise with colleagues at Bard College Berlin to ensure student satisfaction; Maintain ongoing communication with U.S.-based partner schools regarding student health and safety, program updates, and new program developments; Contribute to the integration of DEI practices into Bard Abroad policies, materials, and programs. Master Terra Dotta's Studio Abroad platform to manage application flow and communications; Collaborate with Annandale campus partners (admission, bursar, financial aid, registrar) to promote and support a cohort of newly admitted Bard students begin their Bard studies at BCB; Conduct research on academic programming at North American colleges and universities that relates to the themes of BCB programs; Produce and edit brochures, flyers, and advertisements and assist with annual mail and email marketing campaigns; Update and edit all Berlin-related program handbooks in alignment with Bard Abroad policies and BCB's campus policies. Contribute to the work of the Open Society University Network (OSUN) as it pertains to BCB study away programming. Other duties as assigned.
