Instructor Pool - 2020/2021: Individual Music Lessons

Internal Job Number: P03770UF Description: The Music program in the School of Arts & Communication invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track, part-time Instructor positions to teach individual music lessons on a term-by-term basis for the 2020-2021 academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Director. The primary mission of the Music program at OSU is to provide undergraduate and graduate education. Students may seek BA and BS degrees in music as well a minoring in music. Graduate students may also pursue a Masters in Music Education Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty): Typically requires Master’s degree in discipline appropriate to the field of teaching/instructional tasks. Requirements : Bachelors degree in Music, and/or equivalent professional experience with demonstrated ability to teach at the college level. In order to receive consideration for professional experience, applicants must have demonstrated successful teaching of post-secondary students and attained success with experience in the following areas: Knowledge of repertoire appropriate for post-secondary students in their area of expertise. Professional experience as a performer on their major instrument over a period of not less than 3 years on a regional level. Understanding of the pedagogical practices particular to their instrument. Regional reputation as teacher and/or performer Additional Salary Information: Commensurate with training, education, and experience
