Internal Job Number: P03769UF Description: The Music area in the School of Arts & Communication invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track full/part-time Instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2020-2021 academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Director. The primary mission of the Music program at OSU is undergraduate and graduate education. Students may seek BA and BS degrees in music as well a minor. Graduate students may also pursue a Masters in Music Education. Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty): Typically requires Master’s degree in discipline appropriate to the field of teaching/instructional tasks. Requirements : MM, MME, or MA. and/or equivalent professional experience with demonstrated ability to teach at the college level. In order to receive consideration, applicants must have demonstrated successful teaching of post-secondary students and attained success in the following areas: Content knowledge and expertise relevant to the academic area under consideration. Professional experience as an instructor for post-secondary students over a period of not less than 3 years on a regional level. Understanding of the pedagogical practices particular to the discipline being taught. Additional Salary Information: Commensurate with training, education, and experience
