The Post-Doctoral Fellow will join a large collaborative team studying the development and outcome of children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in multiple already-available as well as growing data sets at the Center for ADHD Research at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland Oregon. The content focus is on longitudinal data and prediction of clinical outcome, using measures of cognition, emotion, neuropsychological function, personality, clinical symptoms (psychiatric and psychological symptoms), family functioning, and psychophysiology (e.g., respiratory sinus arrhythmia). Opportunity may also be available to examine neuroimaging and genetic data for interested fellows.

Analytical methods applied in the study will include longitudinal structural equation modeling (e.g., growth curve models) and growth mixture modeling, as well as opportunity to carry out machine learning prediction models (e.g., random forest, support vector machine, LASSO, others).
The Post-Doctoral Researcher on this project will be expected to conduct statistical analyses and ample opportunity will be available either to immediately be lead author on new papers with already-available data or to carry out specialized analyses or both depending on career goals.
There will also be an opportunity for advanced training in developmental psychopathology, translational research conceptualization, statistics, machine learning, and information systems. Learning and training opportunities will be developed commensurate with the interests and skills of the candidate.
Opportunities for supervised clinical hours to obtain psychology licensure are not required but are available to interested applicants. The position will provide one year of guaranteed funding, with a second year contingent on performance and funding availability. Ph.D. in Psychology, Computer Science, Neuroscience, or other relevant field
Excellent statistical and quantitative skills
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Strong writing abilities
Self-organization, self-starter, ability to meet deadlines and complete work schedulesa
Ability to work well in a team and in a cross-disciplinary environment
Experience with structural equation modeling, longitudinal data analysis, handling categorical and missing data
Exposure and preferably experience with machine learning methods
Programming capability in Python and R are all preferable, but applicant does not need to have expertise in all of these areas to be considered for the position
