About the Role:
Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle, seeks a costumer for the 8th grade’s musical, The Drowsy Chaperone Jr.
Schedule & Timeline
Auditions: November 5–7, 2025
Rehearsals: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 3:40–5:40 p.m., mid-November to early February. Costumer’s schedule will be created in collaboration with the director.
Extended rehearsals: Begin week of February 2, 2026
Performances: February 11–13, 2026
Responsibilities
Read and research script
Attend production meeting(s) and works with director on vision for the show
Design, pull, build, borrow costumes
Create hair/makeup looks and help teach student actors how to execute them
Maintain costumes through run of show
Clean costumes and restore to closets or owners at end of run
Requirements and Qualifications
Ability to attend all agreed upon rehearsals and performances (transportation not provided).
Experience with and enthusiasm for working with young actors and technicians
Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. The candidate will understand different perspectives; interact respectfully with cultures other than their own; and cultivate meaningful relationships with people that have different cultural frameworks.
Satisfactory completion of at least two criminal background checks.
Compensation
Stipend Range: $1500 - $2000
