About the Role:

Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle, seeks a costumer  for the 8^th grade’s musical, The Drowsy Chaperone Jr.

Schedule & Timeline

• Auditions: November 5–7, 2025
• Rehearsals: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 3:40–5:40 p.m., mid-November to early February. Costumer’s schedule will be created in collaboration with the director. 
• Extended rehearsals: Begin week of February 2, 2026
• Performances: February 11–13, 2026

Responsibilities

• Read and research script
• Attend production meeting(s) and works with director on vision for the show
• Design, pull, build, borrow costumes
• Create hair/makeup looks and help teach student actors how to execute them
• Maintain costumes through run of show
• Clean costumes and restore to closets or owners at end of run

Requirements and Qualifications

• Ability to attend all agreed upon rehearsals and performances (transportation not provided).
• Experience with and enthusiasm for working with young actors and technicians
• Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. The candidate will understand different perspectives; interact respectfully with cultures other than their own; and cultivate meaningful relationships with people that have different cultural frameworks.
• Satisfactory completion of at least two criminal background checks. 

Compensation

Stipend Range: $1500 - $2000
