About Zoellner Arts Center
Zoellner Arts Center opened in the spring of 1997 and is home to Lehigh University’s Department of Music, Department of Theatre, Lehigh University Art Galleries, and the Zoellner Presenting Series. The Presenting Series has showcased a wide array of multidisciplinary, multicultural performers, including Tony Bennett, Yo-Yo Ma, the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, Leslie Odom Jr., Cirque Éloize, MOMIX, and the vertical dance company BANDALOOP.
We are committed to cultivating lifelong patrons of the arts through our leadership role in Any Given Child Bethlehem (AGC) and our own robust educational programming. Each year, we collaborate with 17 local school districts, reaching more than 8,000 students through live performances, workshops, and in-school artist visits. Additionally, we offer arts-based professional development opportunities for educators across the Lehigh Valley.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we deepened our outreach to underserved communities by creating programs that foster connection and healing. One such initiative is Community Conversations—a unique program that brings together patrons from diverse political, g...eographic, economic, and racial backgrounds for a shared meal, dialogue, and performance. This work underscores our belief in the power of the arts to bridge divides and bring people together.
To further promote access, we established a transportation endowment to assist geographically isolated school districts and local nonprofits that might otherwise be unable to attend live performances.
We have also made important strides in physical and sensory accessibility within our venue. Improvements include:
Installation of two automatic entry doors
Upgraded hearing assist system
Additional temporary wheelchair-accessible seating as needed
Sensory kits and a Relaxation Room for neurodiverse patrons
Accessibility training for all staff
Intentional programming of artists that reflect the full diversity of our community
Through these efforts, Zoellner Arts Center continues to evolve as a space that is inclusive, welcoming, and deeply connected to the people it serves.
