This posting establishes a pool of teaching specialists or lecturers who will be selected on an as-needed basis.
Applied Lessons: Teach graduate and/or undergraduate students in applied lessons such as violin, piano, percussion, viola, clarinet, etc.
Or
Academic Courses: Teach graduate and/or undergraduate students in various music academic courses. Hold office hours to assist and advise students. Participate in relevant departmental meetings and/or other services. Teaching may be for day, evening, or summer session courses.
These positions are contingent upon student enrollment, performance, and availability of funding. Positions are appointed during the 2025 - 2026 year (Fall, Spring and/or Summer). Interested candidates are welcome to apply and the pool of candidates will be reviewed should openings occur. As the need arises, the School will refer to the pool of qualified applicants who have submitted the appropriate application materials to be considered for openings.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelorâ™s degree, performerâ™s certificate or substantial documented professional achievement in a relevant field.
Demonstrated teaching experience in a specified field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masterâ™s degree or earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree in a relevant field by date of appointment.
Teaching experience at the college level in relevant area of discipline, evidence of interest and success in teaching.
Performance experience with a nationally known ensemble is preferred for positions teaching individual instrumental lessons.
