Millwood School seeks a passionate and dedicated full-time JK-12 Music Teacher to lead and develop our music program. The ideal candidate will inspire students across all grade levels through engaging instruction in vocal and instrumental music, music theory, and performance. This role includes directing school concerts, ensembles, and potentially a musical theater production.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum for students in grades JK-12.
Teach general music, choir, instrumental ensembles, and music appreciation.
Foster a love for music by creating an engaging, inclusive, and creative classroom environment.
Organize and direct school performances, concerts, and assemblies.
Provide individual and group instruction to students of varying skill levels.
Collaborate with faculty to integrate music into interdisciplinary learning experiences.
Support extracurricular music opportunities, such as school musicals, ensembles, or special events.
Maintain and manage school music resources, instruments, and performance spaces.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student growth.
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Teaching certification or equivalent experience in music instruction.
Proficiency in teaching vocal and instrumental music across K-12 grade levels.
Experience directing musical performances, ensembles, or choir.
Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
Ability to incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods into the music curriculum.
Passion for fostering creativity, collaboration, and student engagement in music education.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and the school community.
