We are currently seeking a part time Spanish teacher for our elementary program.
Christopher Academy's Spanish program is designed to help students enjoy the process of learning Spanish as well as learn about the culture of Hispanic countries. The primary goal is to develop a student’s receptive language skills and, according to level, expand each student’s skills in speaking, writing, listening and reading. This is accomplished using a variety of interesting research-based techniques. Games, music, stories, projects using technology and other activities play a large role developing a love of learning another language.
Instruction and related activities must support the mission and philosophy of Christopher Academy.
Instruction and related activities must be based on the curriculum guide and support or enrich curriculum objectives.
Instruction and related activities must be developmentally appropriate for the grade and age being taught.
Field trips, projects, special events, and guest speakers must enhance and enrich the learning experience for students.
Conditions of Employment:
Applicants for teaching positions must complete an application that includes references, transcripts of colleges attended, and evidence of a teaching license, if applicable.
Candidates are interviewed by a personnel committee that includes the Head of School and current teachers.
Employees must have the following background checks: fingerprint and protective services. Background checks will be repeated every five years.
Employees must have TB tests every two years.
Employees sign an annual employment contract for the school year.
Employees agree to abide by the policies of the School.
Employees agree to abide by the Termination of Employment policy.
