Longwood Gardens is seeking an innovative, results-driven, and strategic marketing leader to serve as our Director of Marketing. This pivotal role will oversee a high-performing team of marketing professionals and will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that drive visitation, enhance brand visibility, and support revenue growth across all audience segments.
As the primary driver of sales within the Marketing and Communications team, the Director will lead initiatives that span digital and traditional advertising, brand management, content strategy, and audience development. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the public perception of Longwood Gardens, collaborating across teams, and ensuring alignment with our mission, values, and long-term strategic goals. Responsibilities include:
Identifying key audiences, developing and implementing marketing strategies and advertising plans, including traditional, digital, and social platforms, to reach new guests, achieve revenue goals, and promote and sell the various programs.
Monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating the performance of marketing campaigns, programs, and offerings, adjusting strategies based on market response and business objectives.
Overseeing the Membership program with 82,000 member households, digital marketing including web, social, and mobile initiatives, and data analysis.
Optimizing data and technology to improve marketing efficiencies, campaign effectiveness, and overall guest experience, including a new CRM solution, mobile technologies, and institutional data.
Conducting market research and analysis to understand industry trends, audience behaviors, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities and challenges and apply insights to inform strategy.
Developing institutional strategies and programs that facilitate innovation and have cross-departmental impact as well as providing leadership in long-range planning and program development.
Identifying and cultivating opportunities for strategic community relationships and partnerships that align with institutional goals, including accessibility, hospitality, and tourism partners.
Serving as a brand ambassador, ensuring cohesion, world-class quality, and excellence in all Longwood expressions.
We seek a self-motivated, strategic, and creative individual. The ideal candidate will possess:
A bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
A minimum of5 years of experience working in a marketing leadership role leading a team
Demonstrated success in developing and executing marketing strategies and plans to expand audiences, meet marketing objectives, and achieve overall sales goals in a consumer market
Strong understanding of digital marketing, effective online tactics, and tools to better reach desired audiences
In-depth understanding of integrated and holistic marketing approach, measuring ROI and ROM for all lines of business
Strong communication skills and ability to manage and inspire an in-house team
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, project and time management skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Experience with translating marketing research, goals, and objectives into creative solutions across a full platform of media
Experience working for an attraction, cultural institution or hospitality organization is a plus
