Position Overview:
The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center is seeking a Production Audio Manager to join its growing team. The Production Audio Manager will set up, operate, and maintain the PA and Audio Equipment in all the Mahaiwe’s venues, and will mix audio for events in either an A1 or A2 capacity depending on the needs of the production. The Production Audio Manager will also provide theatrical production and administrative support to the Director of Production, will assist with load ins and venue setups, will act as a projectionist for screened events as needed, and will provide general support for the Production and Facilities department.
Reports to: Director of Production
The Production Audio Manager's responsibilities are:
Work with Director of Production to plan for and execute the production audio needs of our visiting Artists, including the following;
Serve as the A1 or A2 for events depending on the needs of the production.
Collaborate with touring production teams to produce high-quality audio reinforcement for events.
Mix live audio for a wide variety of events including concerts, theatre, dance, lectures, and more.
Monitor volume levels of screened events including HD Broadcasts and movie screenings.
Set up, operate, and maintain monitors, amps, PA systems, speakers, mics, consoles, and more.
Manage sound checks, run monitor console or front of house console as needed.
Assist tours with setting up their audio systems and tying into House PA.
Work with Production Team to prepare, set up, and execute a wide variety of live events as needed, including HD broadcasts, movie screenings, lectures, dance, theater, concerts, meetings and receptions.
Serve as the Production point person and/or the projectionist for Mahaiwe Screened events as needed, including Movie Screenings, Met Opera Broadcasts, and National Theater screenings.
Work with Artist, Artist’s technicians, and over-hired technicians to plan, prep, and work stage shifts as needed.
Work with the Director of Production to keep production files, databases and schedules up to date.
Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of all of the Mahaiwe’s venues, including performing preventative maintenance, basic repairs, and general housekeeping as needed.
Ensure that Artists, Vendors, and Contract Labor experience a welcoming and inclusive working environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.

The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center is executing a Strategic Plan that calls for growth across all sectors, including expanded programming in both our historic Mainstage and in our newly opened second performance space, the Indigo Room.
The Mahaiwe has been recognized for its leadership in regional pay equity and in reaching local Spanish language audiences, among other efforts, and has a consistent record in presenting high-caliber performers across a wide variety of live art forms.
This position does not have a regular weekly schedule and will be determined by the performance calendar.
The hours for a performance day may range between 10 and 14 hours depending on the size of touring party of the artist.
The hours for a screened event may range between 5 hours and 8 hours depending on the length of the content being screened.
Most of the performance days will be Thursdays through Sundays.
The Mahaiwe programs performances year-round.

Skills we need you to have:
Experience mixing audio for a wide variety of event types and music genres.
Experience mixing both front of house and monitors for live performances.
Experience mixing on Yamaha CL series and QL series consoles.
Ability to execute high level organization in a complex, deadline driven environment.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
A valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
Knowledge of standard theatrical language and terminology.
Skills we would really like you to have, but can teach:
Experience rigging in a hemp house and working with chain motors.
Experience with digital projection technology.
Experience with QLab.
Experience with Dante audio patching
Knowledge of ETC EOS Lighting Consoles and stage lighting
Physical Demands:
Able to work in various lighting conditions from very bright to very dark.
Able to bend and twist freely.
Able to withstand loud noises.
Able to walk unimpeded across various flooring and terrain typically found in a theater setting including stairs and ladders.
Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and 100 assisted.
Able to safely work at heights up to 60’ on ladders and lifts.
