The State University of New York at Fredonia is seeking a part-time staff collaborative pianist to provide full-time (average 20 hours/week) accompanying services based on School of Music needs (e.g., applied lessons, choral ensembles, student juries, student recitals). Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with hundreds of concerts, student recitals, faculty recitals, and guest artist programs every year. This is a part-time, temporary, 10-month position that requires evening and weekend work, and includes generous benefit and retirement plans along with competitive salary compensation.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collegial team of faculty and staff who are committed to expanding the boundaries of music in higher education, by not only innovating within existing contexts but also envisioning and enacting new practices informed by critical dialogue and thoughtful engagement with stakeholders within and beyond the school. Our new colleague will help us navigate the shifting landscape of higher education through their contributions to generating change, taking risks, inventing new opportunities, and exploring new ideas and approaches. Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Dean of the School of Music, the successful candidate will:
Provide part-time (average 20 hours/week) collaborative piano services based on School of Music needs (e.g., applied lessons, choral ensembles, student juries, student recitals)
Work reliably, efficiently, flexibly, and independently on tasks as assigned
Communicate effectively with faculty, students, and staff, both verbally and in writing
Understand and follow all university policies
This is a part-time, UUP represented, temporary, 10-month staff position beginning on or before September 1, 2024, with a salary of $18,500 - $20,000, commensurate with experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in music by August 2024
Demonstrated experience in collaborative piano in diverse settings
Demonstrated excellence in collaborative performance
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree(s) in collaborative piano or solo piano performance
Minimum five years of experience as a collaborative pianist
Experience working in community, University, and/or professional music performance environments
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Enthusiasm for developing and maintaining collegial, effective relationships with students, faculty, and staff within and beyond the School of Music
Ability to bring unique perspectives and values to the School of Music, University, and community

Recording of plenary sessions that is intended for broadcast or webcast requires prior arrangement and permission through APAP;
Advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours;
Advance scouting, without cameras, is required;
All camera crew personnel must wear press badges, and badges must be visible while on the exhibit floor;
All camera crews will be escorted by a representative of the Conference while on the exhibit floor;
A list of filming needs, indicating company name and booth number, must be approved by APAP in advance of any filming;
Permission must be granted by each exhibitor before any filming begins. Camera crews must provide release forms before filming;
If you ?need power, other than battery pack, advance arrangements are required and can be arranged by contacting Leah Frelinghuysen;
You will be responsible for any costs related to electrical needs;
Interviews for exhibitors in the EXPO Hall should be scheduled up to one week before the conference starts (January 10, 2020) and advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours
