The Department of Asian Studies at DePauw University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2025. Ph.D. (completed by August 2025) in language acquisition, linguistics, Chinese literature, or Chinese language pedagogy is preferred; ABD candidates will be considered at the rank of Instructor. A commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal-arts setting and evidence of effective and inclusive teaching are essential. The department specifically seeks candidates to teach all levels of Chinese language and one (or maximum two) non-language content courses per year, depending on the needs of the program. Teaching assignment is six courses per year, and funding is available for professional development and research with undergraduate students.
The successful candidate will coordinate the Chinese language program at DePauw.
