Lecturer in Music
The Department of Music at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for the undergraduate class AMST/MUS 55a Music in Film: Hearing American Cinema in the Fall semester (2022). The class is taught on a Tues/Fri schedule from 11:10am - 12:30pm. The course examines the aesthetics and the history of music in film. Through lecture, class discussions, screenings, and readings, the course teaches students how to critically read image, script, and music as an integrated cultural text, advancing an understanding of the progression of film and sound technology from the 1890s to the present.Candidates with a PhD degree in musicology and research and/or teaching experience in Film music will be given
