String Program Director
Homer OPUS is a nonprofit organization that delivers school and community-based string programs to individuals aged kindergarten through adult. Our kindergarten through second grade program takes place in local elementary schools and focuses on using the power of music instruction to build brain skills and social/emotional skills. Our after school orchestral ensembles add the skills of musicianship, support the development of individuals as musicians, and foster a lifelong love of music. Homer is located on beautiful Kachemak Bay in southcentral Alaska, a 225-mile drive or 30-minute flight from Anchorage.
