A basic understanding of multisensory teaching methods, diverse learning styles, and specific strategies for teaching students with learning needs and dyslexia is required.&#xa0; 
 The Oakwood School Music Teacher instructs students in the fundamental elements of music on an age-appropriate level for grades 1 st  through 8 th . The music teacher provides classroom instruction that allows students to become familiar with all different styles of music from various time periods. This person will be responsible for coordinating a curriculum the supports the development of students&#8217; appreciation and understanding of music. The music teacher should expect to work collaboratively with staff to plan special programs and performances for the Oakwood community. 
 An appropriate candidate will develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum for elementary through middle school-aged students with learning disabilities that ties into the overall school curriculum and philosophy, adapt activities and lessons to accommodate the wide range of skill sets and abilities of the students, and provide feedback to classroom teachers about student performance and needs as part of the teaching team.

 Credit card coding, check request processing, vendor information gathering, keep track of different budget lines 
 Assist performing arts faculty with copying materials for class 
 Assist with filing of music and music room setup, including developing and maintaining digital sheet music database 
 Coordinate and organize performing arts archival projects: record all performances, transfer video to DVD, store videos electronically and traditionally. Track all photos. 
 Assist in maintaining and operating various office machines 
 Supervise reservations for Theater, Theater Lobby and Upper School Dance Room 
 Create and submit work orders for every Upper School performance and Tech Week 
 Manage and update Theater Reservations Calendar 
 Order office supplies 
 Manage ticket reservations from Veterans Affairs 
 Liaison to the Veterans Affairs
