Visiting Full-Time Faculty Position in Theatre & Dance (Theatre History and Dramatic Literature)
Description The Department of Theatre & Dance at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a visiting full-time faculty position for the 2026-2027 academic year to begin in August 2026. The candidate will teach courses in Theatre History & Dramatic Literature with a specialization in an area of Theatre dealing with non-Western, diasporic or underrepresented cultures. The candidate will offer our standard major courses in Theatre History and Modern Drama, along with courses in their area(s) of specialization. Candidates may have the opportunity to teach interdisciplinary courses or seminars for our first-year program. Directing experience is desirable but not required; candidates with directing experience may direct a production in lieu of one of the course slots. The Department of Theatre & Dance is a NAST-accredited institution that offers students the opportunity to emphasize performance or design and technology. Visiting full-time faculty teach 3 courses each semester and are eligible to apply for support to present at a conference or attend a professional development program through the Provost's Supplemental Research Fund. The College will support reimbursement of relocation costs within its published policies. This position offers full benefits and a salary of $70,000.
The College will not support H-1B visa applications that require the $100,000 employer fee.
QUALIFICATIONS Candidates must demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching and inclusive pedagogies as informed by current practice and scholarship in the field.
