Inly School seeks a compassionate and engaging Spanish Teacher to join our community starting August 2026. The Lower School Spanish Teacher will teach students from Toddler through Third Grade, fostering language acquisition in an engaging, hands-on manner. This part time role will not only provide a vibrant learning experience but will also immerse students in the joy and depth of Spanish language and culture.
Inly School is an independent PreK–8 Montessori-plus School located in Scituate, MA that serves over 200 students from 20 South Shore towns and is deeply rooted in Montessori, child-centered, and inclusive educational practices. Position Structure
This is a part-time Spanish teaching position serving students from Toddler (18 months) through Lower Elementary (9 years old). The Spanish Teacher is responsible for cultivating early language exposure through immersive, developmentally responsive instruction that builds joy, confidence, and cultural awareness, laying a strong foundation for future language study.
Key Responsibilities
Spanish instruction in the lower grades emphasizes exposure, immersion, and relationship-building. Learning is rooted in play, movement, music, storytelling, and everyday language use, supporting natural language acquisition and fostering a positive, inclusive relationship with Spanish and global cultures.
Design and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate Spanish experiences for Toddler through Lower Elementary students that prioritize listening and speaking skills.
Create an immersive Spanish language environment through songs, movement, games, storytelling, and visual support.
Support students in developing comfort with pronunciation, rhythm, and basic conversational language through repetition and meaningful routines.
Integrate Spanish learning into classroom rhythms and schoolwide experiences in collaboration with classroom teachers and specialists.
Foster cultural awareness and curiosity through age-appropriate exploration of Spanish speaking cultures.
Support students’ social-emotional development in alignment with Montessori values, emphasizing independence, respect, empathy, and community.
Maintain clear, developmentally appropriate documentation of instructional themes and student engagement.
Strong Candidates Will Have:
A Bachelor’s Degree (in Spanish, Education, or a related field); Master’s preferred.
At least three years of teaching experience, ideally with diverse age groups and/or in a Montessori setting.
Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish and English.
A collaborative spirit and a desire to contribute to Inly’s progressive, inclusive environment.
A commitment to anti-bias education and the creation of a welcoming, inclusive classroom community.
An understanding of, or willingness to learn, Montessori philosophy and methods.
