Centre College invites applications for a 2-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre, beginning in August 2026. Candidates must be ABD or have a Ph.D. or MFA in Theatre by the time of appointment. Seeking a dynamic, collaborative theatre artist and scholar with the ability to teach broadly across topics in acting, directing, history, and dramatic literature. Classes taught would include:
- Acting 1
- Movement
- Voice & Diction
- Theatre History & Literature
- Script Analysis
- Other courses as appropriate to the program, the college, and the interests of the individual – these might include upper level acting or history/literature classes, as well as general education classes focused on teaching writing, public speaking, or collaboration.
This position will direct at least one production in our mainstage season each year, collaborating with faculty, staff, and student designers. They may also be called upon to mentor student directors, coach auditions, participate in recruiting efforts, and other supporting activities.
