Summary: The Events Coordinator plays a key role in event planning for the Advancement Team and Dawson Family Association. Reporting to the Director of Development, the role involves planning and executing school events, alumni gatherings, and community engagement initiatives. Ideal candidates possess strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills, as well as experience in event coordination. This person will support the Director of Development and the school's strategic priorities related to Advancement.Â

Events & Community Engagement
Lead the creative vision and manage all aspects of planning and executing events (ranging in size, scope, and format), including alum events, and community events.
Manages and serves as the primary contact for the Dawson Family Association, providing clear communication, supporting the events and initiatives throughout the school year (including Gingerbread Event, used uniform sales, pop-up shops, employee appreciation and Family Dance)
Partners with division program coordinators on DFA’s grade-level parties and celebrations
Create agendas for and lead DFA connections meetings.Â
In partnership with the Middle School Program Coordinator, support the planning and execution of 8th-grade graduation events.
Plan and execute community gratitude gifts and messages, including promotional items, to show appreciation.
Develop a strategy for volunteerism, including offering a variety of opportunities, training, managing, and maintaining a pool of volunteers.Â

Development
Supply all donors with a timely tax letter.
Coordinate donor and volunteer recognition events, communications, and gatherings.
Steward gratitude outreach by generating thank you cards and letters for all incoming gifts within a week of receipt.

Marketing Support
Partner with Marketing and Communications to ensure events are marketed to appropriate constituents
Support content production through recording school productions/events, conducting editing, and processing the product for family distribution as assigned (this includes evening events)

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Experience and skill working with technology: Google Suite, databases, websites, and social media
Deep commitment to Dawson’s educational philosophy, Mission, Core Beliefs, Diversity Statement, and values
Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, time-management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks
Proven track record of managing budgets, timelines, and logistics for complex events
Ability to multitask and read/edit content for accuracy and details
Excellent written communication skills, in organizing and executing a detailed communications plan, a passion for storytelling, and writing preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal skills
Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate a variety of tasks simultaneously, and consistently follow up on details
Must be able to function independently and in close cooperation with others
