The Department of Theatre and Dance at the State University of New York, Fredonia invites qualified applications for a one-year full-time position as a Collaborative Keyboardist/Accompanist, Music Director, and Instructor, beginning Fall 2025. This position is secured by a one-year contract, and is renewable annually, with a salary range of $50,063 to $53,000. Duties include music direction, accompaniment, possible vocal coaching, and teaching undergraduate musical theatre classes as assigned within the BFA Musical Theatre, Acting, and BA Theatre Arts degree programs. Teaching load is equivalent to four classes per semester; course work may include assignment to courses in the university's general education program. Prior university teaching experience is preferred, but exceptional candidates with no prior teaching experience will be considered. A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to collegiality and possess the ability to foster departmental synergy. The Department, located in Fredonia's Rockefeller Arts Center, offers eight dedicated acting and dance studios, the proscenium Marvel Theater, and the flexible space theater, The Alice Bartlett.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES
Reporting to the Chair, the successful candidate will:
Serve as Collaborative Keyboardist/Accompanist for our musical theatre productions, showcase and courses;
Serve as Music Director for mainstage musical theatre productions as assigned;
May serve as Vocal Coach for mainstage musical theatre productions as assigned;
Teach musical theatre-related courses, including introductory-level performing arts classes, group voice classes, Introduction to Musical Theatre, and other courses that relate to the individual's skills and experience;
Participate in the recruitment and auditioning of student applicants to the department, including auditions;
Contribute to the development and instruction of musical theatre-related courses;
Participate in the department's governing process by attending department meetings and serving on committees as assigned;
Be active as a recruiter for the Department of Theatre and Dance;
Demonstrate a strong commitment to collegiality and possess the ability to foster departmental synergy;
Demonstrate commitment to diversity and the needs of diverse learners;
Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies; and
Provide service to the department, college, university, and profession.
Additional areas of teaching and service may be determined depending on Department needs and the candidates' individual interests, qualifications, and expertise.
This is a full-time, temporary, Lecturer position beginning Fall 2025.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in a related field (music, theatre, musical theatre);
Related Experience at the collegiate and/or professional level;
Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of both the campus and school's mission;
Experience with instructional technology; and
Demonstrated commitment to the university, division, and profession.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated success as a collaborative keyboardist in musical theatre;

Demonstrated success as a vocal coach in musical theatre;
Demonstrated success teaching music and or theatre in a higher education setting;
