St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School seeks to ignite in students an interest in and passion for language study that leads them to discover different cultures and contributes to the growth of students’ language skills and their global perspectives. At St. Patrick’s students participate in Spanish classes beginning in kindergarten.

The fifth through eighth grade Instrumental Music teacher serves as a bridge from the Lower to Middle School music curriculum. This part-time position requires the teacher to teach music  in an environment that values collaboration and differentiated instruction. The Instrumental Music curriculum encompasses:

• Fifth grade: beginning ukulele
• Sixth grade: beginning guitar
• Seventh and Eighth grades: students opt in to one semester of  music instruction over the two years; courses may vary by semester but may include intermediate guitar, jazz ensemble (students would need their own instrument), music composition, etc. The teacher will be able to suggest possible course offerings.

This position will be 2 days per week (7 hours, including prep) plus 5 additional hours for each concert (rehearsal and attendance). For the 2025-26 school year on campus hours are:

• one semester on Wednesday afternoons, 2:15-3:15 p.m.
• all year on Fridays 10:30 a.m.-2:45 p.m.
