APAP Career Center

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement creative, theme-based lessons in your assigned content area (Art, Music, P.E., MakerSpace, or Mystery Class) for students ranging from Pre-K3 to Eighth Grade.
• Collaborate with other specialists to ensure activities are age-appropriate, engaging, and align with camp themes.
• Supervise and manage student behavior with the assistance of camp counselors during class rotations, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
• Participate in up to two duties: a.m. or p.m. carpool, recess, or lunch.

Qualifications

• Teaching Certification or Equivalent Experience: We welcome certified teachers as well as those with substantial experience leading summer camps or similar programs.
• Relevant Experience: Demonstrated experience in the content area (Art, Music, P.E., MakerSpace, or thematic programming) is required. This could include formal teaching experience, camp facilitation, or other relevant roles.
• Strong Classroom Management Skills: Ability to engage and manage groups of students from PreK-3 to Eighth Grade, adapting activities to be age-appropriate and engaging.
• Creativity and Flexibility: Capable of designing activities that align with weekly themes, engaging students in hands-on, interactive learning.
• Excellent Communication Skills: Able to work collaboratively with other camp staff, including counselors, coordinators, and the Director of Auxiliary Programs.
• Safe Environment training and background checks are conditions of employment
