APAP Career Center

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise Pre-K3 or Pre-K4 students, providing structured, age-appropriate activities that align with camp themes.
• Coordinate with content specialists and camp counselors to integrate one content class (Art, Music, P.E., MakerSpace, or Mystery Class) into each day's schedule.
• Ensure a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for early childhood campers, with camp counselors helping to manage behavior and keep children engaged.
• Participate in up to two duties: a.m. or p.m. carpool, recess, or lunch.

Qualifications

• Teaching Certification or Equivalent Experience: We welcome certified teachers as well as those with substantial experience leading summer camps or similar programs.
• Strong Understanding of Early Childhood Development: Experience with Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 age groups, with knowledge of age-appropriate activities and safety practices.
• Nurturing and Patient: Ability to create a warm, structured, and supportive environment that meets the needs of young children.
• Creativity and Flexibility: Capable of designing activities that align with weekly themes, engaging students in hands-on, interactive learning.
• Excellent Communication Skills: Able to work collaboratively with other camp staff, including counselors, coordinators, and the Director of Auxiliary Programs.
• Safe Environment training and background checks are conditions of employment.

Details

This is a weekly seasonal position. You can apply for one or more of the following weeks in the summer. The hourly rate is $40.00/hr. Lunch is included.

Work week is Monday – Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. Daily schedule provides ample prep-time and summer counselor support.

Weeks available:

• June 16 – 20, June 23 – 27, July 7-11, July 14 -18.
