The Band Director is responsible for teaching Kindergarten-4th grade instrumental music classes and 5th-12th grade concert band, as well as coordinating Fall and Spring Band concerts and other band events on campus. Working as a team player with the rest of the Fine Arts department is a must.

Responsibilities:

Direct and manage the overall program of instrumental music for the school.
Plan concert music each semester.
Direct instrumental performers.
Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student differences.
Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal process.
Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
Experience teaching students with learning differences and an understanding of different learning styles and skill levels.
Creative, flexible and innovative teaching style that engages all types of learners.
Superior communication skills (both written and oral).

Recording of plenary sessions that is intended for broadcast or webcast requires prior arrangement and permission through APAP;
Advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours;
Advance scouting, without cameras, is required;
All camera crew personnel must wear press badges, and badges must be visible while on the exhibit floor;
All camera crews will be escorted by a representative of the Conference while on the exhibit floor;
A list of filming needs, indicating company name and booth number, must be approved by APAP in advance of any filming;
Permission must be granted by each exhibitor before any filming begins. Camera crews must provide release forms before filming;
If you ?need power, other than battery pack, advance arrangements are required and can be arranged by contacting Leah Frelinghuysen;
You will be responsible for any costs related to electrical needs;
Interviews for exhibitors in the EXPO Hall should be scheduled up to one week before the conference starts (January 10, 2020) and advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours
