The Facilities Assistant will report to the Facilities Manager, offering essential support for facilities and maintenance operations. This role also provides backup coverage for the Moore Information Desk as needed. The primary areas of responsibility include Burton Tower and the Dance Building, with occasional support for the Moore Building, Stearns Building, Walgreen Drama Center (WDC), and Stamps Auditorium.

Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks for the Dance Building and Burton Tower, assisting with the Moore Building as needed.
Manage the TDx maintenance request process, ensuring timely communication with requesters and resolution of issues.
Oversee Facilities & Operations (F&O) work orders, ensuring they are logged, tracked, and completed effectively.
Collaborate with SMTD departments to support event setups, including arranging equipment and working independently as required.
Participate in safety inspections and emergency response initiatives, including serving on the BIRT team.
Assist in organizing office spaces for new hires and office relocations.
Prepare and coordinate Property Disposition activities.
Process and manage key requests, including liaising with the U-M Key Office.
Maintain inventory and ordering of office and kitchen supplies for the Dance Building and Burton Tower.
Provide backup coverage for the Moore Information Desk as needed.
Assist with mail delivery services, ensuring accurate distribution.
Keep mailbox labels updated in Moore, Stearns, and BMT for effective correspondence management.
Support the maintenance of student lockers and records in Moore.
Work with the Facilities Manager and team to improve operational processes and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
1-2 years of experience in facilities operations or a customer service-oriented administrative role.
Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Docs, and Forms).
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with an aptitude for multitasking amidst competing priorities.
Routinely moves boxes weighing up to 50 pounds across campus for various classroom and event needs.
Sound judgment and critical thinking skills for effective problem-solving.
Experience working effectively with diverse communities and cultures.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
This position may involve traveling to various locations on campus to conduct business and deliver materials via University vehicle or University bus system. Agree to an annual U-M Motor Vehicle Record check.
Familiarity with TeamDynamix.
Experience with M-Marketsite ordering.
Familiarity with U-M Facilities & Operations AiM.
Day shift, Monday - Friday with potential flex scheduling for event support. Duties are performed on-site and in-person.

Recording of plenary sessions that is intended for broadcast or webcast requires prior arrangement and permission through APAP;
Advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours;
Advance scouting, without cameras, is required;
All camera crew personnel must wear press badges, and badges must be visible while on the exhibit floor;
All camera crews will be escorted by a representative of the Conference while on the exhibit floor;
A list of filming needs, indicating company name and booth number, must be approved by APAP in advance of any filming;
Permission must be granted by each exhibitor before any filming begins. Camera crews must provide release forms before filming;
If you ?need power, other than battery pack, advance arrangements are required and can be arranged by contacting Leah Frelinghuysen;
You will be responsible for any costs related to electrical needs;
Interviews for exhibitors in the EXPO Hall should be scheduled up to one week before the conference starts (January 10, 2020) and advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours
