Duties and Responsibilities: The Box Office Manager for the College of Fine Arts manages the internal operations related to directing, monitoring, and controlling daily business and ticketing administration. This position oversees and ensures compliance with university policies and procedures as well as best practices in box office activities, weekly and monthly accounting processes, year-end financial reporting and year end settlements. The Box Office Manager reports to the Communications Manager and works closely with the entire marketing team to ensure best-in-class patron experience and engagement.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and/or experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. Two years of experience working in box office management and/or venue management office in music, theater, art, or educational organization.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s or bachelor’s from an accredited institution in performing art field (music or theater), arts or business administration, hospitality, or related field. Three or more years of operations/logistics experience in a ticketing or box office management experience; two years of supervisory experience in face-to-face customer service and sales environment utilizing a point-of-sale system or CRM; ability to demonstrate examples of success or high achievement within that experience. Three years or more of experience working with student employees.
Strong computer skills in retail, ticketing, or database software programs. Experience managing a point-of-sale system (Tix and/or Ticketmaster preferred) and peripheral hardware.
Demonstrated management aptitude in working with small and large groups of closely interacting staff and be sensitive to the diversity of staff and their needs.
Ability to coach staff through learning opportunities when questions or concerns are discussed to create a positive work environment.
Project management and planning skills, and verbal/written communication skills and the confidence to communicate results to various constituencies.
Accommodate a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as well as being able to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Knowledge of and an appreciation for music and/or theatre.

Recording of plenary sessions that is intended for broadcast or webcast requires prior arrangement and permission through APAP;
Advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours;
Advance scouting, without cameras, is required;
All camera crew personnel must wear press badges, and badges must be visible while on the exhibit floor;
All camera crews will be escorted by a representative of the Conference while on the exhibit floor;
A list of filming needs, indicating company name and booth number, must be approved by APAP in advance of any filming;
Permission must be granted by each exhibitor before any filming begins. Camera crews must provide release forms before filming;
If you ?need power, other than battery pack, advance arrangements are required and can be arranged by contacting Leah Frelinghuysen;
You will be responsible for any costs related to electrical needs;
Interviews for exhibitors in the EXPO Hall should be scheduled up to one week before the conference starts (January 10, 2020) and advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours
