About the Role
Washington Episcopal School (WES) is seeking a Marketing and Design Associate to bring our school’s story to life through compelling content and strategic marketing. This role blends creativity, technology, and relationship-building to support admissions, advancement, and community engagement.

What You’ll Do
Social Media & Digital Marketing
Manage and grow our presence on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube with engaging daily content.
Capture and share the moments that make our school unique—from study trips to sports games to performances.
Monitor and analyze competitor schools and industry trends to keep us ahead of the curve.
Run and track paid digital ad campaigns that drive engagement and enrollment.
Analyze campaign performance and adjust strategies to improve reach and effectiveness.
Design & Content Creation
Design brochures, banners, flyers, digital ads, print ads, giveaways, and more to support admissions, advancement, and events.
Take and edit high-quality photos and videos that tell our story.
Film and edit videos, including student acceptance videos, event recaps, and promotional content.
Maintain and update the school website and work with an SEO consultant to optimize content.
Events & Community Engagement
Support major school events like Back-to-School Night, Grandparents Day, and Admissions Events with marketing materials and logistics.
Help craft email marketing campaigns and school-wide communications.
Design and support fundraising materials for the Annual Fund and auction gala.
Opportunities to chaperone Middle School Study Trips and document experiences in Utah, Italy, Spain, or France.
What You Bring
Proficiency in graphic design, photography, and video editing (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
Experience in social media management, digital marketing, and analytics.
Strong writing and storytelling skills with a keen eye for consistency.
A tech-savvy mindset, always eager to learn new tools and stay ahead of trends.
A positive, collaborative spirit and a love for kids, families, and community-building.
The ability to accept feedback and continuously improve to make every project stronger.
A “whatever-it-takes” attitude—willing to roll up your sleeves and go above and beyond.
Bonus Points If You Have…
Experience in independent schools or nonprofits.
A background in theater, performing arts, or creative storytelling.
Web design skills and familiarity with SEO and website hosting platforms.

Recording of plenary sessions that is intended for broadcast or webcast requires prior arrangement and permission through APAP;
Advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours;
Advance scouting, without cameras, is required;
All camera crew personnel must wear press badges, and badges must be visible while on the exhibit floor;
All camera crews will be escorted by a representative of the Conference while on the exhibit floor;
A list of filming needs, indicating company name and booth number, must be approved by APAP in advance of any filming;
Permission must be granted by each exhibitor before any filming begins. Camera crews must provide release forms before filming;
If you ?need power, other than battery pack, advance arrangements are required and can be arranged by contacting Leah Frelinghuysen;
You will be responsible for any costs related to electrical needs;
Interviews for exhibitors in the EXPO Hall should be scheduled up to one week before the conference starts (January 10, 2020) and advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours
