The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a MARKETING DIRECTOR. The Marketing Director for UAB Center for the Arts (which Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts, Alys Stephens Center, ArtPlay and UAB Institute for Arts in Medicine) has the opportunity to make a major impact in expanding and diversifying audiences for a mission-driven organization. This position will serve as a member of the UAB Visual and Performing Arts' senior staff and will be a central hub for communication materials across all departments. The Marketing Director, in partnership with the Executive Director and senior leadership, will create the most compelling narrative to promote the brand. The Marketing Director will ensure that all marketing campaigns, external messaging, and collateral materials fully represent the mission, vision, and values of UAB Visual and Performing Arts. They will be responsible for day-to-day development and implementation of marketing strategies and initiatives and drive revenue and attendance to maximize public participation. They will manage, supervise, and direct all marketing activities associated with UAB Visual and Performing Arts to include market planning, development, research and analysis, and all associated activities. The Marketing Director will coordinate and collaborate with the Office of Marketing and Communications to ensure the projects meet the needs and expectations of UAB Center for the Arts and the overall UAB brand.

UAB Center for the Arts is looking to build a boundary-breaking future and is seeking a visionary leader to support the organization's evolution. They will exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning, looking beyond the status quo and a relentless curiosity. This individual will be a collaborative senior leader and an organized project manager with a robust understanding of organizational culture and change management. The Marketing Director will be a participative manager who inspires a team by modeling behavior that achieves goals through integrated marketing plans and a commitment to reaching new audiences. They will effectively communicate with judicious directness, both internally and externally.
Senior management, institutional marketing, public relations, and programmatic marketing. Outstanding writing, editing, and public speaking skills. The ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, organization, prioritization, and be a team player are a must. Various forms of Marketing software, Microsoft Office required. Tessitura Ticketing Software and Asana software are preferred, but not required. Forward candidates that meets the minimum qualifications.

Recording of plenary sessions that is intended for broadcast or webcast requires prior arrangement and permission through APAP;
Advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours;
Advance scouting, without cameras, is required;
All camera crew personnel must wear press badges, and badges must be visible while on the exhibit floor;
All camera crews will be escorted by a representative of the Conference while on the exhibit floor;
A list of filming needs, indicating company name and booth number, must be approved by APAP in advance of any filming;
Permission must be granted by each exhibitor before any filming begins. Camera crews must provide release forms before filming;
If you ?need power, other than battery pack, advance arrangements are required and can be arranged by contacting Leah Frelinghuysen;
You will be responsible for any costs related to electrical needs;
Interviews for exhibitors in the EXPO Hall should be scheduled up to one week before the conference starts (January 10, 2020) and advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours
