KEY RESPONSBILITIES
Reporting to the Chair, the successful candidate will:
Teach courses in the department's production and design sequence (B.A. and B.F.A.),and other costume technology skills as applicable and qualified (basic and advanced costume construction, costume design, rendering and costume craft);
Teach in the university's general education program as requested;
Mentor students through costume design process for mainstage productions;
Oversee all aspects of the Costume Design process for Departmental mainstage productions including: attend weekly design/production meetings, oversee fittings, supervise all costume, hair and make-up designs, and attend all dress rehearsals;
Work with Costume Shop Supervisor and part-time Costume shop assistant to execute Costume Designs for all Departmental mainstage productions;
Work collaboratively with Theatre and Dance faculty Directors and Choreographers as needed to execute Costume Designs for all Departmental mainstage productions;
Willingness to contribute to the General Education Program;
Participate in the department's governing process by attending department meetings and serving on committees as assigned;
Participate in ongoing curricular development within the department;
Participate in departmental recruitment efforts, including BFA Design/Tech interviews;
Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies.
This is a full-time, UUP-represented, tenure track position beginning Fall 2025 with a salary range of $50,063-$55,000, commensurate with experience..

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
MFA in Costume Design for Theatre or Scenography from an accredited institution by August 2025;
University Teaching Experience;
Professional Costume Design experience;
Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of campus and department mission;
Experience with instructional technology;
Demonstrated commitment to the university, division, and profession.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
3 or more years of University teaching experience;
Knowledge and Experience in Various Approaches to Costume Design Training (e.g.Rendering the human form, Costume History, script analysis, stitching, cutting draping and patterning);
Experience in Community Engagement in the Arts and/or Independent Theatre.

Recording of plenary sessions that is intended for broadcast or webcast requires prior arrangement and permission through APAP;
Advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours;
Advance scouting, without cameras, is required;
All camera crew personnel must wear press badges, and badges must be visible while on the exhibit floor;
All camera crews will be escorted by a representative of the Conference while on the exhibit floor;
A list of filming needs, indicating company name and booth number, must be approved by APAP in advance of any filming;
Permission must be granted by each exhibitor before any filming begins. Camera crews must provide release forms before filming;
If you ?need power, other than battery pack, advance arrangements are required and can be arranged by contacting Leah Frelinghuysen;
You will be responsible for any costs related to electrical needs;
Interviews for exhibitors in the EXPO Hall should be scheduled up to one week before the conference starts (January 10, 2020) and advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours
