Summary: The Department of Music at Malone University seeks a collaborative and inspiring choral music artist/educator to serve as the Director of Choral Activities. The ideal candidate will possess the requisite musical experience to lead and further enhance an established collegiate choral music program. Total enrollment is over 1,300 students in traditional undergraduate programs, one degree-completion program, and four master’s programs.
Responsibilities:
Direct the Malone University Chorale, an auditioned 25-30-voice choir that performs on- and off-campus, including our annual Christmas at Malone concerts, as well as annual spring tours, both domestic and international.
Direct the Malone University Chamber, a select ensemble of 6-8 voices, and other ensembles as appropriate.
Advise and mentor music majors (BA Music, BSE Music Education, BA Worship Arts) and work with the School of Education to facilitate music education field work and student teaching.
Recruit prospective students for Chorale and vocal ensembles; work with directors at local high schools, including Christian, public, and other private secondary schools.
Teach courses in vocal conducting, methods, and literature, and teaching music in secondary schools.
The normal faculty load is 12 credits per semester.
Engage in scholarship and community service.
Serve as Vocal Area Coordinator and Recital Coordinator.
With assistance from the administrative assistant to the music programs, coordinate music auditions and ensemble participation award letters or contractual obligations to prospective scholarship recipients.
Serve on divisional & institutional committees
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Music or Music Education required; Ph.D. in Music Education or DMA in Music preferred.
Teaching licensure preferred.
Able to demonstrate evidence of strong professional activity, including solo and collaborative performances.
Deep personal commitment to Jesus Christ and an understanding of and commitment to the integration of faith and learning in the academic discipline.
Commitment to teaching within an undergraduate music program.
A disposition toward service to the department and university.

Recording of plenary sessions that is intended for broadcast or webcast requires prior arrangement and permission through APAP;
Advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours;
Advance scouting, without cameras, is required;
All camera crew personnel must wear press badges, and badges must be visible while on the exhibit floor;
All camera crews will be escorted by a representative of the Conference while on the exhibit floor;
A list of filming needs, indicating company name and booth number, must be approved by APAP in advance of any filming;
Permission must be granted by each exhibitor before any filming begins. Camera crews must provide release forms before filming;
If you ?need power, other than battery pack, advance arrangements are required and can be arranged by contacting Leah Frelinghuysen;
You will be responsible for any costs related to electrical needs;
Interviews for exhibitors in the EXPO Hall should be scheduled up to one week before the conference starts (January 10, 2020) and advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours
