Position General Description Bertschi School is seeking a dynamic and creative part-time Movement Teacher to engage young learners in grades PK-2 through an innovative movement and dance curriculum. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing students’ physical, social, and expressive skills through movement activities that foster creativity, confidence, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
Design and implement a movement and dance curriculum that introduces students to key elements of dance: space, time, force, body, locomotor and non-locomotor movement, and form.
Plan engaging activities that incorporate movement patterns, dance techniques, and rhythm to build students' physical coordination and awareness.
Plan 30 minute movement classes for pre-k to 2nd grade students.
Use positive teaching practices to manage a classroom of young students while they are joyfully participating in movement activities
Create sub lesson plans if absent
Collaborate with teachers to support students with curiosity and collective problem solving
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in P.E., elementary education, or related field preferred
Demonstrated effectiveness as a physical education teacher or movement teacher with a minimum of two years of experience in a school program, as a coach, or as a movement or yoga teacher
Experience and fluency in teaching dance elements and movement concepts to young children.
Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that nurtures students' growth and creativity.
Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for working with early childhood and primary grade students.
Experience teaching diverse student populations and partnering with diverse families

Recording of plenary sessions that is intended for broadcast or webcast requires prior arrangement and permission through APAP;
Advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours;
Advance scouting, without cameras, is required;
All camera crew personnel must wear press badges, and badges must be visible while on the exhibit floor;
All camera crews will be escorted by a representative of the Conference while on the exhibit floor;
A list of filming needs, indicating company name and booth number, must be approved by APAP in advance of any filming;
Permission must be granted by each exhibitor before any filming begins. Camera crews must provide release forms before filming;
If you ?need power, other than battery pack, advance arrangements are required and can be arranged by contacting Leah Frelinghuysen;
You will be responsible for any costs related to electrical needs;
Interviews for exhibitors in the EXPO Hall should be scheduled up to one week before the conference starts (January 10, 2020) and advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours
